How Top Achievers’ Programme Can Help You

Working alongside your staff, we identify students that will benefit from the Top Achievers’ Programme (TAP) in achieving their fullest potential in University admission. Upon the enrolment of these students (TAP Scholars) on the programme, our dedicated team of Consultants will work with each TAP Scholar to map out and follow what we call their ‘Pathway’ to a successful University application – whatever their social, cultural or economic background.

The programme can be tailored for different Year group(s) – from Year 7 (Age 11) to Year 13 (Age 18) TAP Scholars.

Whether you are a UK or International School or Sixth Form College, below is a template of a typical academic year schedule of our services to Schools. The bespoke nature of our offering means that upon your request, we can focus on certain areas that are of interest to you.

September to November

Working with your TAP Scholars and relevant staff, the first set of sessions in this quarter will focus on raising aspiration, dispelling myths about Oxbridge, other Russell Group Universities, and the Professions. More sessions in this quarter will explore the University application process and identify the best-fit Universities and courses for each TAP Scholar. In addition to these, Year 13 TAP Scholars will be supported through the preparation and submission of their University applications

December to February

TAP sessions in this quarter will focus on gaining practical insights on different Universities, the life of University students, and a career in various Professions; with an emphasis on gaining relevant work experience and parent/guardian engagement. The bespoke ‘Pathway’ to a successful University application will be produced for each TAP Scholar, guiding their journey to making successful University Applications. In this quarter, the main focus for Year 13 TAP Scholars will be the final preparations for University interviews.

March to May

The first set of TAP sessions in this quarter will evaluate the use of the bespoke ‘Pathway’ to a successful University application document by each TAP Scholar. This process will be followed by a progress report. More sessions in this quarter will focus on the preparation for University Admissions Tests, and Interviews for relevant TAP Scholars. In this quarter, all TAP Scholars; including those whose application do not require tests or interviews, will be supported in the planning and drafting of their personal statements.

June to August

TAP sessions in this quarter will focus on consolidating activities such as work placements, admissions test preparation, mock interviews, and personal statements. A major highlight in this quarter is the TAP Seminar – an intensive 1 day event, including speakers from several Universities. Highly interactive workshop sessions for TAP Scholars and their parents/guardians, are held as part of the day’s event. The TAP seminar is held on a Saturday during the summer holiday, and has become a main feature in the TAP Schools’ calendar.
